Fort Collins Colorado Attractions has many attractions and things to do for visitors. Fort Collins is located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and is only a few short minutes from Horsetooth Reservoir a real boaters delight. Just south and 45 miles west is Rocky Mountain National Park. About an hour to the east is the Pawnee National Grasslands a whole different natural and historical environment. There is plenty to keep all ages busy year around.

If it is entertainment you want there are venues that have almost all sports including professional hockey, football and semi-pro baseball and of course all of the activities of Colorado State University a member of the MWC. Also many national entertainment acts visit the Fort Collins area including music, ice shows, rodeos and much more. The is also no lack of shopping with new retail centers opening in virtually all directions and there is "Old Town" for eating, shopping and entertainment. Fort Collins is also home to four breweries from the large Budweiser plant to New Belgium, Odell's., Fort Collins Brewery and many brew pub's. There is always something to do in Fort Collins Colorado.

Larimer County Fairgrounds and Budweiser Events Center. Located just off I-25 North of the Highway 34 interchange. A new state-of-the-art center is the home of professional sports teams Colorado Chill women's basketball and the Colorado Eagles Hockey. The center has a full schedule of attractions. The entire complex is called The Ranch.

Colorado Welcome Center. Just off I-25 at Prospect exit. Go west 1/2 mile entrance on left. 

Avery House One of Ft. Collins best examples of it's history. A National Historic Place. Built in 1879. The owner and builder Franklin Avery is the man we have to thank for the wide streets as he was the towns first surveyor.

New Belgium Brewery 500 Linden St. Near Downtown Ft. Collins. Tours year around. Visiting? Calling ahead may be wise.

Discovery Science Center Museum. 703 E. Prospect Ft Collins. Colorado's only hands on science and technology center with 130 incredible interactive exhibits.

City Park Railway This delightful little train is a favorite of the very young. The miniature train runs summers in city park Admission charge. Map

Fort Collins Municipal Railway   The antique fully restored city streetcar Old 21. It is the only original restored city streetcar operation in the western US. Open May-Sept Weekends and Holidays 12pm-5pm. Adults $1.00 Children under 12 0.50. Runs from city park down Mountain Ave. to Howes St. and back.

Poudre River Canyon West of Ft Collins is US Highway 14. A spectacular circle drive featuring the only wild river (no dams)  left in America the Cache La. Poudre River. Means Powder hiding place. Drive crosses the continental divide and reaches Walden Colorado. Walden has great restaurants and real good moose viewing.

Pawnee National Grass land. Located 70 miles East of Ft. Collins on Highway 14. A visit to this National Grassland is like returning to the way it was in the 1860's when the first white settlers arrived here. Michener's book Centennial was based on this grassland area. Great walks,  hiking and birding. At night the stars are unreal.

Rocky Mountain National Park. Located west of Ft. Collins. South to Loveland then west on US34 to Estes Park. Open Year around. Trail Ridge Road, Highest continues highway in US, Open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Deer, Elk, moose, coyote, bear, cougar and big horn sheep.

The Fort Collins Museum 200 Matthews St. Ft Collins. It's mission is to explore the legacies of the peoples and environments of the Cache La Poudre River Valley.

Anheuser-Busch Brewery & Clydesdale Barn. Located just off I-25 at Mountain Vista Dr.  North of Ft Collins.
Tours Oct-May: Thursday-Monday 10:AM-4:00pm.

Fort Fun. A family amusement Center. Includes a 36 hole miniature golf course, slick track and family go carts, bumper boats, laser tag, water games, and arcade.
